【Position Summary】
The Psychological Counselor is responsible for providing professional psychological counseling services to students. This includes individual consultations, group sessions, and crisis interventions to promote mental health development. Responsibilities include collaborating with Student Affairs Department faculty, organizing mental health education activities, contributing to a school-wide psychological support program, and creating a positive learning and living environment
The main responsibilities include
(1) Counseling and Support
-Conducting one-on-one psychological counseling sessions to assess students’ mental states and develop intervention plans.
-Organizing group workshops on mental health topics (e.g., stress management, interpersonal communication).
-Monitor students’ psychological progress, maintain confidential mental health records, and ensure data privacy.
(2) Crisis Intervention
-Identifying and address psychological crises (e.g., suicidal tendencies, severe anxiety) promptly establish emergency protocols.
-Coordinating internal and external resources (e.g., hospitals, families) to provide urgent psychological assistance.
(3) Education and Cooperation
-Designing and conducting mental health education seminars/workshops to raise awareness among students and faculty.
-Collaborating with Academic Affairs Department, faculty, and parents to create a campus mental health support network.
(4) Administration and Professional Development
-Preparing regular reports on psychological counseling’s, analyze data, and propose strategies for improvement.
-Participating in professional training and supervision to continuously improve psychological counseling skills.
【Qualifications】
Required Education
-Educational Requirements Master’s degree or higher in Psychology or related field; preference for candidates with international education/work experience.
Required Experience
-Experience Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in school or adolescent psychological counseling.
Required Attitude
-Demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect for student diversity.
-Proactively addressing challenges with a strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality.
-Willingness to respond to urgent mental health crises outside regular working hours.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
Preferred Experience and Skills
-Valid National Counselor II certification.
-Proficient in counseling techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Focused Solution Brief Therapy).
-Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese, German is a bonus.
-Excellent organizational and management skills, adept at multi-tasking and problem solving.
-Proficient in the use of various office software and data analysis tools
-Proficient in business oral communication and writing in both English and Chinese.
Additional Competencies:
-Proficient in MS Office and psychological assessment tools (e.g., SCL-90, MBTI).
-Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.
