The Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University is China's first institution aiming at independent theoretical innovation in social sciences. Its predecessor is the Center for New Structural Economics at Peking University. Founded in December 2015 by Professor Justin Yifu Lin, former chief economist and senior vice president of the World Bank, it is one of the first pilot units of high-level think tanks in the country. New structural economics introduces the heterogeneity and endogeneity of structures of countries at different development levels into the modern economic theory system, which takes the structures of developed countries as the implied structures of its theories. The Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University actively promotes the deepening of theoretical innovation, policy practice, student education and international exchanges in new structural economics. Since Adam Smith published "The Wealth of Nations", the world economic center has been the research center of economics in the world and a center from where masters who lead new theoretic trends in economics comes. The Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University sincerely invites economists who are committed to seizing the historical opportunities brought by China's economic development and deepening the theoretical innovation of new structural economics to join.

Qualifications

申請者應(yīng)于2026年8月前獲得相應(yīng)博士學(xué)位，并有強(qiáng)烈意愿和能力深化新結(jié)構(gòu)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)的理論創(chuàng)新。

Candidates must have a Ph.D. by August 2026 and demonstrate a strong willingness and the ability to conduct research on New Structural Economics (NSE).
