The intended areas of focus in the GZ Campus will be thematic and cross-disciplinary in nature, synergistic with HKUST without overlapping academic degrees or structures. HKUST(GZ) comprises four Hubs, namely Function Hub, Information Hub, Systems Hub, Society Hub and 16 thrusts. At steady state, the number of undergraduate and postgraduate students will reach a total of 10,000.
College of Education Sciences (CES), under Vice-President for Teaching and Learning, is the academic unit responsible for first and second year undergraduate education, offering humanities, social sciences, language and STEM courses. CES will conduct research in the fields of cognitive sciences and innovative pedagogy. CES also serves as the home unit for UG students before their program major determined, providing students with academic-related services. The College is composed of six divisions, including: Pillar of General Education (PGE), Pillar of STEM Education (STEM), Pillar of Cognitive Sciences (PCS), Pillar of Language Education (PLE), UG Teaching Labs (UGTL), and College of Education Sciences Office (CESO).
CES is inviting applications or nominations for non-substantiation-track faculty positions at Senior Lecturer/Lecturer of Educational Sciences tracks. We welcome exceptional candidates, who are enthusiastic about the exploration and implementation of educational innovation, and have demonstrable expertise and teaching experiences in the following areas:
? Arts (particularly Fine Arts)
? Humanities (especially science fiction writing, history of science and technology, philosophy of science and technology, sociology of science and technology, ethics of science and technology, science and technology humanities, etc.)
? Physical Education
? Interdisciplinary Education
? Social Science
? Higher Education
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1.Plan, design and conduct the delivery of the Common Core and Fundamental courses for freshmen and sophomores;
2.Responsible for mentoring students and other community services as required;
3.Contribute to the University’s education reform and the establishment of innovative talent cultivation model across the University;
4.Contribute to the establishment of the University’s education policy including teaching and learning assessment, teaching and learning quality assurance, etc.;
5.Contribute to the promotion of innovative teaching methods including blended learning, flip classroom, etc.
Qualification of Candidates
6.A Master's degree or above in physical education and arts, a Doctoral degree in other mentioned fields above or any other related fields;
7.Teaching experiences in Common Core Education in higher education sector are preferable. Experiences in interdisciplinary teaching are preferable;
8.Veteran in innovative pedagogies and teaching methods such as flipped classroom, blended learning, experiential learning;
9.Have published on top-ranking journals nationally or internationally;
10.Able to inspire and cultivate the interdisciplinary mindset, critical thinking and innovation ability of students by providing them with diversified learning experiences;
11.A high level of proficiency in spoken and written English;
12.Be passionate in teaching and learning with outstanding communication skills and teamwork spirit.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
Salary is highly competitive of international standard and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment to non-substantiation track faculty will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to 3 years renewable for another 3 years subject to performance and mutual agreement.
